Samantha Butler is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from Saco, Maine. With roots working across various media in both the performing and visual arts, Sam values applying collaborative and improvisational principles to her process. Sam received a B.A. in American Studies and Studio Art from Connecticut College, where she earned First Place for her thesis work, Cave. While in college, she spent a summer with Bread and Puppet in Glover, Vermont as an apprentice and studied at Central Saint Martins in London, UK. Now based in Portland, Maine, Sam loves to work with artists and empower them to achieve their visions. Sam splits her time working as a Preparator at SPACE Gallery, as designer at Richardson Allen, a handmade garden furniture manufacturing company, and doing freelance work on a variety of creative projects. She is currently developing her practice through oil painting and constructing custom wooden home furnishings.
